NEW SHOT ADDED: "6 Follow Split" - Here is a variation of another shot elsewhere on this site. I call it the '6 Follow Split' because I make 6 balls using a follow stroke and two balls on tubes split the side pockets. It's fun, for sure! Enjoy!

NEW SHOT ADDED: "Yow's Rain" - As you probably know, if you've been checking this site for a while, I get pretty creative from time to time. I enjoy inventing shots, of course. This shot is one i call "Yow's Rain". I have two balls suspended on coin wrappers which fall down onto the rails and run across the table. But, the awesome part is that I accomplish this with a masse shot similar to "The Rocket" where I'm able to pocket balls in each of two opposite corners. In my next showing of "Eric Yow's Trick Shot Madness" I plan to make it rain! Check this out!

NEW SHOT ADDED: "BB Reverse" - Shots where the cue bal is frozen to the rail are tough. Shots where the cue ball is frozen to an object ball are tough. Shots where the cue ball is frozen to the rail and between two object balls are even tougher! Here, the cue ball is on the rail and between two balls. I shoot the cue ball through one of the object balls, making it, without touching the other, and have the cue ball reverse off the long rail to come back and pocket the object ball in the corner pocket. This shot is much harder than I make it look here, I assure you.

NEW SHOT ADDED: "Massey Spinner" - Mike Massey has done a LOT for the sport of Artistic Pool. Here's another one of his additions to the sport. In this shot, I shoot the first ball with an object ball, using a a lot of left hand spin and a stun shot. This leaves the ball spinning with a lot of left english. While it sits spinning, I shoot it again to have it spin off of the far short rail to make a ball in the side pocket. This is a really pretty shot, thanks Mike!

NEW SHOT ADDED: "Easy 5 in 1" - Here's a fun shot that I like to call the Easy 5 in 1. The setup is pretty simple with a 3 ball cluster at the side pocket, I use the rack to pocket #4 and have the rack cocked just right to send the cue ball to #5. This is a fun shot that's not too hard and it's pretty impressive for what it's worth. I recently added this to my show, "Eric Yow's Trick Shot Madness" and it has been quite a hit. Give it a poke next time you get a chance. Enjoy!

NEW SHOT ADDED: "Angelo's Railroad" - My friend Angelo is becoming a really good pool player. He recently devised a variation of the old, old shot "the railroad". He calls it, "Angelo's Railroad", appropriately. Watch this clip where he shoots the shot, then I shoot the shot as well. There are 3 balls at the side pocket, all frozen in line. The cue ball makes two of the balls, goes 3 rails, then does the railroad switchyard thing, and pockets the nine. Fun shot! Good job Angelo! Keep shootin'!

NEW SHOT ADDED: "Spinnin' Rack" - My Czech friend sparked my interest in creating some new prop shots where I hang a rack from the ceiling. Here, the rack is suspended from the ceiling fan by a string. I spin it fast...quite fast. Nevertheless, with just the right timing, I jump the cue ball through the rack to make a ball! Silly, I know. But fun!

NEW SHOT ADDED: "Swingin' Rack" - While I had the rack suspended from the ceiling by a string, I decided to see how fast I could swing it and still be able to jump through it. Obviously, I was having too much fun! Ridiculous. Simply ridiculous. ;)

NEW TRICK ADDED: JUGGLING - I took it upon myself to learn to juggle recently, only it's juggling on the pool table! Here I juggle 7 balls for about 20 seconds. This is one clip that's certainly 'just for fun'. :)

NEWEST TRICK ADDED: Ok, so I got to thinking the other day. Then I took some tylenol and after my headache went away, I tried it again. Thinking, that is. While thinking, I came up with an idea. I got another headache, but anyway. Most trick shots come from some crazy idea anyway, so I decided to get one of those. An idea, that is. When I did, it resulted in me borrowing my dad's pitching wedge and a couple of golf balls. The idea was to pitch a golf ball up on the table and make a ball. Now, I'm no golfer. I've been golfing a few times, years ago, and once last year. I never got the hang of it, but I can still hear my dad telling me what I'm doing wrong on every stroke. (and my friends telling me to stick to pool!) So I wanted to see if I could pitch the ball up onto the table and pocket a ball. Well, I had several friends over at the house playing video games and watching movies until the early hours of the morning, the other day. While they did their own thing, I figured I'd put my idea to action and just see if I could get it up on the table. Lo, and behold, I got it up on the table and made the ball I was trying to make! My buddy Robert had said, "better turn the camera on, just in case..." But I DIDN'T! So I tried and tried to make it on camera for the next 45 minutes and never made it. In the clip below you see how close I came to making it the way I intended to make it, trying over and over. At the end of the clip you see me try something a little different. I made the ball, and yes I was trying to make the ball, I just didn't plan out exactly how it was going to make it. What's funny about this clip, is that I tried and tried to make it one way, and never made it on camera; then when I try it another way (you'll see), I actually did make it! This is certainly an off-the-wall kinda shot!

I haven't added a novelty shot in a while so I figured I better post one up. This is one called Wingshots and it is shot here just as it is done in professional competitions. There are numerous ways to shoot wingshots, but I like these the best. If you get good and consistent, you can make enough in a row to impress anyone. I think I have done enough to impress myself at least, when here I make 7 in a row.

This is one of my favorite shots because of its difficulty and its spectacular appeal. I call it the 14+1. I've seen artists do this shot with 7 or 8 balls along the rail. This is my expanded version using all the balls. I have gulley pockets so I can get more balls into a single pocket.
I love this shot because it gives me a real chance to show off in a flashy way with all the balls moving.

This is a shot that I expanded to make TEN BALLS IN ONE SHOT!!!! I make two balls in the near side, three in the far side, two in the near corner, one in the far corner, then the cue draws back to drop two in the bottom corner. I'm excited here because I made it for the first time here on camera, so you're seeing the first time I ever made it.

If you take offense to poor, helpless ceilings taking a merciless beating by unruly poolplayers like myself, you might not want to watch this. I break a nineball rack in a 'special' way so the cue ball jumps straight up to the ceiling. Just so you know, this was no fluke. This is once of ten times in a row that I did it that day.

One Handed Timing Kick. This is the shot that Christopher Walken shot two handed in PoolHall Junkies. What's great is that C.W. made the shot on the first take during filming. If you watch Mars Callahan closely in the scene, you see that he breaks character for a moment. Mike Massey mentions in his book how cool it was for Walken to nail the shot on his first try. Callahan shoots the shot one handed in the movie. It's not movie magic, as you know, and here's proof. And by the way, Callahan didn't quite make it on his first try. I still think he's a filmmaker-genius though.
